MEET THE 2016-17 GEORGIA MUSTANGS COACHES

18U Head Coach Tim Todd
 

Tim Todd has been coaching softball for 22 years and fastpitch softball for over 15 years. Since moving his family from Virginia, his coaching experience includes being head coach for the Alpharetta Fury, Georgia Fire, Milton Feeder Program, Cambridge Feeder Program and the Georgia Mustangs.   Tim has led his teams to various national level tournaments and had 11 of his former players be recruited to the collegiate level including his daughter Holly.  Tim has accumulated 600 + wins at travel and HS feeder levels including numerous ASA, USSSA, ISA, NSA, and USFA tournament wins. Tim managed AYSA's the Travel Program for 11 years and founded the Alpharetta Fire program, started a travel developmental program and managed and coordinated Training for players and coaches.  Tim created and ran Georgia Fire Big Sister camps and clinics.  Tim has also been a private softball instructor for over 5 years as owner/instructor for Level up Fastpitch. 

16U Head Coach Amanda Marshall

Amanda is in her third year as a Head Coach with the Georgia Mustang Organization. She’s played softball at Nicholls State University (Division 1 NCAA) in Louisiana as catcher, corner and outfield. Amanda is a continuing member of the Great Britain National Softball Program and Roster Pool, and played for the Great Britain National Team in the 2013 Junior Women’s World Softball Championships, playing against other elite players and national teams including Team USA, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Russia, China and Taiwan. As a High School freshman, Amanda toured and played softball in Italy with the America’s Team Softball Program, comprised of rising High School and College Players. Amanda graduated from Milton High School in 2012 and was a 4 year varsity starter and letter winner as a catcher, corner and outfielder. She played travel ball for the Georgia Fire 18 Gold in her High School Sophomore year and for the Georgia Impact 18 Gold her Junior and Senior years, qualifying and playing in ASA 18 Gold Nationals. Amanda has helped guest coach and run a number of softball development camps in Georgia and Louisiana.  She was the Head Coach of the spring/summer 2015 Georgia Mustangs 14U ‘00 Red team placing 9th in the Georgia ASA 14A State Championships and similarly in the ASA 14A South Atlantic Regional Championships and Head Coach of the Mustangs 16A ’00 (Marshall) team in 2016, with a great Showcase season culminating with a T-13 finish at ASA 16A Southern Nationals. Coach Amanda is a National FastPitch Coaches Association (“NFCA”) One-Star Master Certified Coach.

16U Head Coach Holly Todd

Holly played collegiate level for three seasons at Berry College before leaving for Nursing School at Mercer University. Holly played Outfield and was a Slapper. She started as a freshman, finished her collegiate career with a .319 batting average, helped lead the Vikings to Southern Athletic Association Champions as a senior, and was named Honorable Mention for the SAA All-Conference team at Berry. Holly started her travel ball career with the Alpharetta Fury and the Georgia Fire through 18u Travel Teams. She attended Milton high school where she was given the coaches award as a freshman and as senior, was named on the Georgia Dugout Club All-State team. In addition, Holly has coached for four years with the Milton and Cambridge Feeder Softball program, Coached  the past four years with the Georgia Mustangs, run numerous development camps, and gives pitching and hitting lessons.  Holly was the Head Coach of the 2015 GA Mustangs 98 team.

14U Head Coach Katie Wooten

 

Katie is a former player for Georgia Southwestern State University. During her four-year career at Georgia Southwestern State University, Katie started every game as a freshman; was second among active players in HR's and RBI's; top five for RBI and PutOuts; led steals as a Senior, and recognized as “Best Game Smarts”. Katie has been playing softball since the age of three and began travel ball at age eight within various youth organizations - such as the Atlanta Vipers and GA Extreme. Since graduating, she has served as a private pitching and hitting instructor as well as a strength and conditioning intern specializing in speed and agility training at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, FL.  Katie played 3rd , SS, RF, and pitched.  Katie was the Head Coach for the 2015 GA Mustangs 12U 02 team & 2016 GA Mustangs 14U 02 team. 

12U Head Coach Jason Little

 

Jason began playing baseball at age three, and travel ball at age 6 in programs sponsored and coached by major league players and coaches throughout the Southeastern US. While at Loganville High School, Jason played on a state championship team and was recruited to play and various colleges. While at Georgia Gwinnett College, he served as president of the baseball association for the schools club team and helped develop their softball and baseball programs. He is currently attending Georgia Perimeter College in business administration and is a member of the Roswell Police Department. In addition, Jason has spent more than four years training athletes, four years coaching with the Cambridge feeder softball program, Head Coach of the 2014 GA Mustangs 12U 01, and Head Coach of the 2015 GA Mustangs 01 Black team.

10U Head Coach Chase Milender

 

Chase Milender has been coaching fast pitch softball and baseball for 13 years.  A majority of those years have been coaching multiple teams in a season, including 175 games in one calendar year.  Chase is starting his 3rdseason as the community coach at Kings Ridge High School Varsity Softball.  He has coached with the Georgia Mustangs, Sharon Springs Spartans, Alpharetta Fire, Hopewell Baseball and Cambridge Feeder Baseball organizations.  Chase has taken teams to the USSSA National Softball Tournament, USSSA State Baseball Championship and to baseball’s Cooperstown, New York Tournament.  He has also worked behind the scenes as a board member of Cambridge High School Softball and Warren Township Softball. Chase is committed to teaching the fundamentals of the game, sportsmanship, and motivating players to compete on and off the field.
